MDIN-180 Video to VGA/DVI converter and de-interlacer
MIT supply de-interlacer chips to the major plasma and LCD TV manufacturers and have now released a de-interlacer for the CCTV market, the MDIN-180. De interlacers work on two basic principles, line doubling (good for fast action sequences) and frame weaving (good for static sequences but not for fast moving sequences). MDIN-180 inteligently chooses the correct de-interlacing method depending on the video content PIXEL by PIXEL ! So you end up with nearperfect progressive video out from interlaced content. Ideal for dispalying video on standard LCD PC monitors in either VGA or DVI output format.
Zilica supports the chip and a complete ready to go module or boxed product. Applications are DVRs with VGA output as well as Composite video supporting both CRT and LCD displays. An aftermarket add on product is also available which takes Composite video in and outputs VGA progressive.
